Tap dancing is a vibrant and rhythmic form of dance that helps children express themselves and develop their physical and artistic abilities. Our dancers go beyond technique to important life skills – learning to be respectful, confident, and hard-working young people in the community.
You must have a high level of energy and enthusiasm to match our students, excellent presentation, and professionalism, a thorough knowledge of dance and a heart for continuing personal and professional development. We are seeking caring assistant teachers who love kids and can assist in multiple styles.

Velocity Dance Center offers monthly special events to bring our tribe together in a relaxed and fun environment. This year’s events include parents only painting night, a special VDC only event at Chester’s Party Barn, volunteering at the Regional Food Bank, family fitness night, playdate in the park, and our anniversary party! Many of our events are free and designed for the whole family to enjoy!
Our classes, costuming, and music choices are “Dad Approved” and selected to give our dancers confidence and keep them looking classy onstage and in the classroom!
The National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ (NHSDA) is a program of the National Dance Education Organization, created to recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, dance studios, cultural/community centers, performing arts organizations, and post-secondary education.
The Rise ceremony celebrates dancers entering 6th through graduating Seniors. The candle lit ceremony recognizes their achievements in academics and the arts. At the Rise Ceremony dancers are also able to nominate their parents for a special award for their dedication to their training. The ceremony is followed by a reception for the dancers and their families.
Our leadership program is designed to equip dancers to be leaders in the studio, in their schools, and in the community. Dancers in the leadership program will study 1 success book per year, will volunteer in the community, and will get training to be a classroom assistant. This program is open to qualified dancers age 10 and up. Dancers must apply to be a member of the leadership program.
